Tarot Card

hmmm.... how very true.....

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

Hansel And Gretel

I believe that most of us, grew up listening to fairy tales, told to us by our primary school teacher, parents, uncles... etc.

How many of you out there, dare to say that you have never heard of "Snow White And The 7 Dwarfs", "Cinderella", or "Sleeping Beauty"? Yeap! everyone must have heard of a fairytale at least once in their life, be it they like it or not.

A classic fairytale, DEFINATELY comprise of a wiked, jealous step-mother, an irresponsible birth parent, and the poor tragic leads.

We all listen, translate and remember the fairytale that was told to us. "Who and Who very poor thing hor?" , " Ai Yoo~ the step mother so evil~" and such.

How many of you actually thinks about the logic and the so called "reality" behind the stories?

Today I’m gonna talk about the story of Hansel And Gretel. To read more about the plot of the story, please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hansel_and_Gretel

Anyway, finished reading the story?

I seriously think that the witch in the story is very MIS-UNDERSTOOD! Imagine you found yourself a place in the middle of the “No-Men-Land”, where you built your dream house, minding your own business… and along comes these 2 kids, and they are snacking on your house! Put yourself in her position, what’re you gonna do??

I was telling my colleague this conclusion the other day, and his reply was like “Biangz, Why you think their parents wanna get rid of them IN THE FIRST PLACE? You really think they are angels ah? ” haha that sent us both laughing like mad.

Hmm….. just a penny for thought :P
PS: i am NOT an anti-children person, i have 2 very lovely nephews who calls me on a daily basis to chat on the phone :P

In A Love / Hate Relationship?

Yesterday a close fren confined in me, that he have not met this person that he likes since Chinese New Year. *did a count and realised that its been 17 days* He was feeling under the clouds. As i was listening to him, it suddenly struck me. Was i ever in these type of relationship? hmmm..... the answer is YES.

when you are in love with someone, you tends to do everything you can, within or out of your means, to make him happy. Every smile of his is damn attractive, every sound he makes - sounds like melody, even when he farts, it smells nice! :P *Yes you! Admit it!*

Even when he gives you crappy reasons like , i was very busy with work, i was very stressed with work, i was very......*fill in whatever reason you can come up with* you will always find him excuses, and believe in him..... to the extend that i find it kindda crappy now.

Firstly.... if the person really likes you. he is gonna call you and talk to you on the phone, even for 5 mins! from his office walk to toilet, from his office travel home, lunch time. you mean to say he couldn't spend that 3-4 mins talk to you on the phone?

Secondly.... if this person is crazy about you, no matter how late it is... he WILL want to meet you for dinner/supper. especially when you are agreeable to travel down to meet him. *which i know my fren is willing to*

Maybe i'm lucky, in the sense that people are willing to travel from jurong to geylang (buy supper) then bring to my place in Yishun. after passing me the food, he left. according to him, that 30 seconds of seeing me is worth the 1 hour plus travelling. *was touched lar... but din really developed*

i have people calling me on the phone, just asking about how is my day. and when i dun feel like talking, i made it clear, and he will put down the phone. *i too did this to people too, and believe me, that 10 seconds of "Yeap i'm good, i'm in a meeting now, can i call you back later?" is enough to put a smile on my face. and when he calls me back later, that action is enough to make my whole evening.

Even though this is said, there are some people out there who are really very reserved. but this does not apply to someone who is in his 40s, and is not new to the circle. they are playing games... believe me. cos i invented the thing call "Mind Games".

At the end of the day, when you feel that, you have done all you can, and still couldn't get a response. i'll say, just move on. you can still keep him in your list. but do not have any expectations from him anymore. Treat him like a FB , instead of a BF potiential. No matter what he have ever told you in bed. there are always better guys out there who will appreciate you for who you are. why wanna be in love with someone who is not, and will not, appreciate you for what you did?

PS: We all love you. You are adorable to us. Fuck him.

Singing Competition

2 weeks ago, my camp decided to have this elaborated Chinese New Year Celebration.... IN A HANGAR. goodness... of all place. anyway, every flight are supposed to arrow a representative out for a karaoke singing competition.

the night before the celebration : Damn! i have got no karaoke version of the MTV! searched all VCD shops from Yishun to Toa Payoh, sms most of my friends, and i am unable to find one bloody MTV with the singing part disabled.... and its going 9pm! most of the shops are starting to close...

luckily my thrustworthy fren , Taka, managed to find the MV for me over the internet. hehe he not only found it, he even downloaded it for me! YEAH! *must remember to find him Directly next time, and not waste so much time walking around the neighbourhood!*

anyway, back to the singing part: damn. 10 singers... 7 sang Jay Chow's song. din realised that Jay Chow's song was so "Hot"! me? LOL of cos i followed the crowd and sang a Jay Chow's song too :P 发如雪

On stage: legs starting to shake, palms began to sweat! damn, there are easily over 100 people looking at me. will i go out of pitch? will i slip and fall? (even though i'm standing there like a statue), Will i sweat like a pig? goodness.... think i'm having a stage fright! i was singing in "Normal" key.. and the song is not really well known for low pitch, thus the tot of going out of pitch constantly worries me. anyway, i decided to close my eyes, sing and just enjoy the moment.

Halfway through, i heard the whole hall clapping. i slit open my tightly shut eyes, and saw 2 female colleagues came up to me with a stalk of rose each! hahaha caused quite a stir. :P

anyway.... it was Cheap production! haha there were no screens on the stage, so i couldn't refer to the lyrics. and luckily i chose a song that i can fully remember the lyrics.

afternote: was still shaking after my performance. haha my colleague commented that my hands are still shaking, when i was pouring the vinegar into my bowl of shark's fin. Amazing!

there was another song that i actually considered singing that day. haha but tot its kindda weird. that such a Fabulous Manly 28 year old man singing 美丽笨女人 to the whole hall of people. haha so i gave up that song :P

Compliments: well.. firstly, my prize was a rather expensive parker pen (was kindda surprised that the budget was High!) haha
2ndly: one of my CO was complimenting that my singing was good! hahaha he was telling a few enciks when he saw me walk pass a few days later.
3rdly: 2 other fellow contestant told me that after they heard my singing, they actually went to buy the album just for the song. they have not heard the song prior to that.
in case you are wondering.... YES! I AM BOASTING! :P haha

Songs That Stirred My Emotions

I've always been very selective about the songs i listen to. The lyrics plays a very big part to whether i like it or not. and for some songs, the MV plays a crucial part in attracting people.

There have been many examples, that the MV made the song. 1st on the list will be 童话 by 光良. when i first heard the song, i thought.... "So So nia ley...what's the big fuss?" but when i finally get to see the MV in Kbox, i was immediately touched by the song. Nope, i didn't get all teary like most people do, but it did struck a cord in my heart.

I did like the song..... until i felt that it was OVER played. you can practically hear the song everywhere~ On the streets when you are shopping, in a bus through the TV mobile, On the TV through singing competition, in KTV pubs (simply cannot understand, within 1 hour, 4 people chose to sing the same song!) it was definately overplayed! to the extend that... there was once i almost puke when i heard the song.

Lately, i'm kindda attracted to this MV by FIR, titled 月牙湾. Like i said, i'm attracted to a song mostly for its lyrics. though i've never been a fan of FIR, but somehow i thought this song have a strange mystical rock feel to it, that catches my attention. the chorus part of the song goes like this:

是谁的心啊孤单的留下
他还好吗我多想爱他 <--- Cheezy
那永恒的泪凝固的一句话 <--- Superb
也许可能蒸发 <--- Superb

是谁的爱啊又为谁降下 <---- Clever
轻声呼唤就让我融化 <--- Nice choice of words
那一滴雨水演化成我翅膀 <--- Superb
向着我爱的人追吧 <---- Too cheezy. haha

Lately the one and only song i'm impressed with.... with be Tanya Chua's 当你离开的时候. this song...... how should i put it.... erm.... i classify this song as a type of MOOD. her singing is very Norah Jones, very pleasant, very "sofa-music". Thought she transmitted that particular state of mind over to me very clearly. Oh ya.. did i mention that it is almost impossible to sing Tanya's song in KTV in "normal" or "O" key? haha

AGE OF UN-INNOCENCE

Welcome to the age of "un-innocence". No one have breakfast at the wet market and no one have affairs to remember, instead, we have Brunch at 12pm and affairs we try to forget as quickily as possible. That is hell of a mess that we got ourself in.

If you are single in singapore, and you refuse to settle down, and you are sexually active.......... its inevidably you will rack up a certain amount of partners...... but how many partners is too many , are we simply romantically chanllenged? or.. are we sluts?

Do you remember the times when you break up and how we felt that your partner disappoints you in the relationship? And suddenly an earth shattering thought pops into your mind..... what if everything isn't your partner's fault? After a certain age, and a certain number of relationships, and if it still isn't working, and your Exs seems to be moving on, and we don't. Perhapes the problem isn the last galfriend, or the one before her, or even the one before her, could it be.... that the problem isn't them, but horrers of horrers.....Its us?

First Posting

this is definately not my first attempt in writing a blog, but thought that since everyone seem to be doing it, i'll just follow the crowd.... for now :P

a couple of weeks ago, i was doing a project using using .asp ...... and when i couldn't get the project to work, i switched to asp.net instead. (this just show how flickle-minded i am!!) anyway, i'm trying to boast that i finished an aircraft inventory system within 2 DAYS!) hehe

was just meddling with Asura's Iphone the other day, and realised that the phone itself, is not really a big deal. Was kindda amazed by the effect it once had on me, when the iphone just came out.

Guess the publicity of apple is really doing a good job. However, even though i was a bit disappointed, the user interface and software inside the phone is still one of the best in the market... just that i expected more. :P neitherless, iPhone is still a desirable phone to own.

i say... get the phone and get ready to be blown away by the auto rotation, levelling software, slide across function and clarity of picture. did not have the chance to see the video quality though. and ya.... the phone is a fingerprint magnet, so better get your wipers ready post-calling.
