Jap Ala-Carte Buffet

someone treated me to this Japanese A-La-Carte buffet today..... tot i just do a simple review....

Ambience: very upscale and nice deco, with very very nice views outside....

Service : All staff are eager to please. not only do they regularly change my side plate. they clear the "finished" plates very efficiently too. when they see all your food have been served, they actually came up to me asking if i wanna add orders....

Variety: damn.......good! altogether there are 108 dishes for you to choose from....

Price: not really on the cheap side... weekend lunch cost about $36.90 per person. that is excluding drinks and all the +++. weekdays will be cheaper.... and dinners will be more expensive...

without delay.... lets just jump to the food........

the first course that came.... is the Cha Soba.... served on a very classy plate, with its sauce in a glass.... the presentation itself actually gave me a shock.... din expect that they actually put in effort in decorating the noodles... in fact, i was so facinated by the display that... i think i forgot how the food taste... but i dun remember it tasting awful....so it must be passable!

The dish on upper left is "Stir fried beef with asparagus". the thinly sliced beef is soft and chewy, with a thin layer of fats on it... Heavenly...... lower right, is the "deep fried scallop". the scallop is very juicy! its a MUST ORDER...

The sashimi..... i only ordered Salmon and Octopus.... again..... the deco is very attractive... look at the linings of the salmon...... very fresh..... and they are NOT thinly sliced.. they are all about 1cm thick. very generous serving... they are all very fresh.. haha i think i ordered too much... cos i ordered a 2nd serving... this time..... the serving is 2 times of those i order earlier.... i was like.... wah....

Above is the "Miso paste grilled salmon" and "Grilled Saba". no complains.... except for maybe some very very fine bones in the Saba.... the taste is good.....

a bit turned off by the looks of this "Grilled Shishamo" and "grilled Shitake Mushroom". tastewise..... still passable...

Tempura! ahaha came with 2 pieces of prawn tempura, and 2 pieces of veg tempura. sauce is served on a seperate bowl. crispy... prawns fresh....Sedap! it was so good that i ordered it again.... this time.... came with 4 pieces of prawn and 4 pieces of vege.

California Maki and Spider handroll (soft shell crab handroll). try not to order the maki.... cos too much rice.... ahhaa taste good, but too much rice makes you full very easily.... the spider handroll is crispy. taste is definately better than those you eat at Sakae Sushi....

Smoked Salmon Salad..... frankily. i'm quite surprised that this is included in the buffet.. haha nope, dun get me wrong... it taste very good..... just surprised that its classified as Japanese dats all....

Agedashi Tofu..... the presentation alone won me over.... served in a cute cup. hehehe

this dish is rather unique.... "Stir fried pork with Kimchi". lookswise..... a bit turned off.... but then.... it taste very good! hahah very appetising.

Salmon Miso Soup..... DO NOT order this.... i tot is rather horrible.. and the salmon...... full of bones! must have used salmon head....

grilled chicken wings in miso paste.... one of the chef speciality.... maybe until this point i'm quite full already.... so.... it taste soso to me nia.. hahaha

grilled eel..... taste wise..... good. they have another version where cheese is added on top.... i din order that though... my fren whom dislike eel, actually ordered this dish... he say this is the only eel that he eats....

deep friend chicken.... not coated with a lot of flour. so you can taste more of the chicken. good. haha

we were so engrossed with the food that we totally neglect the view outside. we were just sitting next to the glass panel, thus we have access to the nice views outside... haha i only noticed it, when i was really very full.....

The store front. its located in Vivo city. ground floor

Point to note: when you place your order... remember to mention you ordering for how many ppl. or be very specific on how many pieces you wanna order. haha i merely said "can i have a shishamo" .... only ONE piece of the fish is served. hahaha Malu..... and ya... the total bill for 2 ppl, and 2 glass of Coke light... add up to $90+
